Your Care Team
Collaborative care,
focused on your recovery.
Recovery requires more than one specialist. At Serenity Oaks, patients benefit from a coordinated interdisciplinary team working together toward shared rehabilitation goals, each member looking at recovery through their own clinical lens.
The Disciplines
Who you'll meet,
and what they do.
Names and faces vary, and not every patient needs every specialist. Here is the full roster your care team may include, and what each person owns.
Physical Medicine & Rehab Physician
The medical lead.
A certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician directs each patient’s plan, rounds several times a week, and adjusts medications and therapy intensity based on progress.
Rehabilitation Nurse
Care, around the clock.
Our nursing team manages medications, wound care, and the rehabilitation-specific complications.
Physical Therapist
Strength, balance, gait.
Licensed physical therapists rebuild the foundations of movement (standing, walking, transferring, climbing stairs) using proven, evidence-based methods.
Occupational Therapist
The everyday, restored.
Occupational therapists focus on the activities of daily life (bathing, dressing, cooking, returning to work) and adapt environments so independence is achievable.
Speech Therapist
Words, swallowing, cognition.
Speech therapists treat communication deficits after stroke or brain injury, manage swallowing disorders, and rebuild cognitive skills like attention and problem-solving.
Care Team Coordinator
The discharge architect.
RN case managers coordinate insurance authorization, family meetings, home equipment, and the outpatient resources that make a successful discharge possible.
Pharmacist
Safe, simplified medication.
An on-site pharmacist reviews every medication list for interactions and rehab-specific risks, and simplifies regimens at home.
Respiratory Therapist
Breath, endurance, confidence.
Our respiratory therapists help patients manage breathing and endurance challenges common after stroke, spinal cord injury, or a cardiopulmonary event, and support patients living with COPD through breathing retraining, airway clearance, oxygen management, and energy conservation techniques that carry over into daily life at home.

How We Work
No silos,
no handoffs lost.
In many hospitals the disciplines work in parallel, and the patient becomes the messenger between them. We refuse that model. Our team meets, talks, and decides together, on a published cadence.
- DailyBedside check-ins with the physical medicine & rehab physician, primary nurse, and therapy team.
- WeeklyFull interdisciplinary team conference to review progress against functional goals.
- AlwaysFamilies are an integral part of a successful discharge back to a home setting.
Patients and families remain active participants throughout the rehabilitation process, because successful recovery happens together.
Meet the people who will lead your recovery.
Schedule a tour and we’ll walk you through the hospital with a physical medicine & rehab physician or therapy lead, so you meet the team before you commit.
Our Leadership
Built by experienced hands.
Guided by a clear vision.

Candece Beall, RN, BSN
Chief Nursing Officer
Candece Beall brings 19 years of nursing experience to her role as Chief Nursing Officer at Serenity Oaks. A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University’s nationally recognized nursing program, she began her career in Hammond, spending more than a decade specializing in cardiac care, emergency and trauma services, and case management. She went on to serve as Director of Nursing in hospice care before moving into post-acute care, where she advanced from case management to Chief Nursing Officer while leading multidisciplinary teams, strengthening patient safety programs, and helping shape care models that improve outcomes. Candece is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and works closely with adult patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, orthopedic and trauma conditions, and other medically complex needs. She believes every patient deserves healthcare that is patient-centered and driven by compassion, safety, and excellence, and she is proud to bring that standard to a hospital serving the community she calls home.
Philippe Inhern, PT, DPT, Manual Therapy Certified, Cert. DN
Director of Rehabilitation
Philippe Inhern brings 12 years of physical therapy experience to his role as Director of Rehabilitation at Serenity Oaks. He earned his Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from LSU and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, and he is licensed in Louisiana. Philippe began his career in outpatient orthopedics, working with athletes and higher-functioning patients while sharpening his skills in problem-solving and diagnosis. Over time, he found himself drawn to inpatient rehabilitation, where the pace is slower, the work is more physically demanding for patients, and progress often comes more quickly. His role shifted from diagnosing and treating orthopedic issues to coaching and motivating patients through the process of relearning how to walk and stand again, work he describes as simpler in its goals but deeply meaningful. Today he treats a wide range of orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, and respiratory conditions, and he believes recovery is a team effort between therapist, patient, and family, all working toward the same goals, with care that addresses the whole person, physically and emotionally.
